To RT Hon H Benn, I am shocked and horrified to find that the Nottinghamshire County Council propose to locate an incinerator on the site of the old Rufford Pit at Rainworth in Nottinghamshire. Alan Meale MP for Mansfield instructed his own report regarding modern incinerators which comply with the Dec 2000 directive via a company called Acrologic. This report was for the proposed Mansfield Incinerator which had its planning refused. The new site proposed is just down the road at Rainworth. However nothing has really change as this report is still valid, as are Alan's comments:- "The proposed siting of a Waste Incinerator in Mansfield is a matter of serious concern. There has been a lack of full and proper consultation, and concerns have not been fully taken into account". This can be viewed on our site. (www.p-a-in.co.uk) In additon this new site is right in the middle of Sherwood Forest which is in the process of being made a living legend. Not much of a start. The are also sand stone aquafers under this new proposed site which is used for our drinking water. These projects are unsafe please look at ZERO waste NOW for ALL our sakes.
